How to Call Argentina

Here is a website that contains all the area codes for Argentina:

http://www.cnc.gov.ar/numeracion/IndicativosInterurbanos.asp

Here are some directions for calling Argentina (courtesy of Mike Taylor):

To call to Argentina long-distance from the U.S., you must follow several steps. First, dial (011). This indicates to the phone company that you are placing an international phone call. Next dial (54) for Argentina`s country code. If you are calling a cell phone (which is usually charged at a higher rate) you must dial a (9) at this point. Next, dial the area code you wish to reach. Note that you must NOT precede the area code with a (0) like you would to dial long distance within the country. Finally dial the number of the subscriber you wish to reach. Note that if you are calling a cell phone, you must omit the numbers (15) from the prefix of the cell phone number.

For example, to dial a standard phone number in Cordoba Capital that is (452-1111) from the United States you would dial:

011-54-351-452-1111

Another example, to dial a cell phone in Catamarca Capital that is (15407200) from the United States you would dial:

011-54-9-3833-407200
