I have heard recently from two completely different sources, that Brazil, (with other countries set to follow suit), will only issue a visa to a missionary who has graduated from four, full years of seminary. The explanation was that this constituted a formal 'religious education' for ministers, and is now required to be a missionary in that country.
One source is a seminary teacher in California. He said his former student was called, and he had only three years of seminary. They were scrambling to figure out what to do. He was not sure if it could be 'made up' and there was a probability of issuing him a new call.
My other source was a mother who was trying to get proof that her son had graduated; since they moved right after he finished high school, and he had misplaced his certificate.
This is supposedly very new, like the past two months. I have not seen any official announcement of this, but the Church rarely announces the various changes in visa requirements to various countries. |

Dear missionaries
I'm happy that just I learn ,one of my new friend from Brazil will be sevrd his mission in your area he is FLAVIO ABRIZ.
I hope that everyone well come him and help him also for his mission.
From my bottom of my heart I wish him the best for this new exerience of his life I 'm sure that this is the best chapter of his life.
And I wish also to him the best in his mission and may Heavenly Father bless him and his mission days.
All of you have my thoughs from far Greece.
