I served in the Brazil Florianopolis for only ten months because I broke my back in a car accident that happened near Xanxere. I had back surgery in Concordia and then spent three weeks in the mission home. I was then flown home. Nine months latter I had back surgery again in the US to take out the rods that were cabled onto my spine during my surgery in Brazil. The bone still was not healed so the doctor performed a lumbar fusion between L2 and L3 on my lower spine. The surgery was a sucess and now I am completly healed. I have no disabilities from the surgery and I can physically handle anything I could before the accident. I can even play football or go snowboarding. I am returning to the mission field now and have been reassigned to the Des Moines Iowa mission. If you would like to send me a letter there please do and here is my address.
