Comments:
Life changes quickly when least expected. On June 1, 2005, my husband Tyler passed away. The sunday before he had spent the day doing Bishopric duties. On his way home (at the end of our street his heart began beating very fast not allowing oxygen to be carried to his brain. He passed out and swerved off the road. The suburban stopped when it hit into a fence. Neither him or the fence was injured. No one saw it happen, but some neighbors later came across the accident and began doing CPR and EMT's were contacted. The CPR was not helping because his heart was in fribrillation still. The EMT's were able to shock him and stop his heart from fribrillating, but it was to late.
Our brain can only go about four minutes without oxygen before brain damage occurs. We spent a few days in the hospital hoping Tyler's brain would be able to repair itself. Things didn't improve, in fact, they got worse. The only thing keeping him alive was the life support. I was able to be with him when he took his last breath.
I am so thankful for my knowledge of the gospel. I can not explain how calm and peaceful I felt through all that has happened. I am so grateful for the life he lived and the opportunity I had to be sealed for time and all eternity to him. He has been a great husband and father. We have no regrets and I know I will be with him again. I am so glad this is only temporary.
Since his funeral, I have moved our small family back to Hyde Park Utah where we had remodeled a home before moving to Albuquerque. I will be closer to family and feel like this is home. We have three boys Lyle (6), Clark (4), and Grant (2). I am also expecting another boy in October. I love you all and wish you the best in all you do.
Love, Marianne
