My name is Darrel J. Bostwick and I served in the Canada Winnipeg Mission from September 1976 to October 1978. I served under President Howard and Sister Betty Lund.

In chronological order I served in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Tisdale, Saskatchewan (East of Prince Albert); Thunder Bay, Ontario; Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; and again in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. My companions were Lance Roberts, Mike Walch, Gilles Therien, Joseph Hardy, Joseph Sprenkle, Lucas Homer, Michael Calderwood, Frederico Rittscher, Roger Knell, Lowell Dunn, Scott Rosenlof, and Richard Vance. Thanks to my companions, the other missionaries, the members I worked with, and the people I had the privilege to teach. I had a great experience as a missionary. Even the difficult times created opportunities for learning, growth and memories for a lifetime. It has been a blessing to me and my family to have kept in touch with and have become good friends with at least one of the families I taught in Saskatoon.

After returning from my mission I worked, continued in school, met my future wife, Lisa Beck from Bountiful, Utah, married, had two children, graduated from BYU with a degree in Construction Management in 1982, went on to graduate school, worked at a clerkship in Washington, D.C., and graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU in 1985.

Since graduation I have worked as an attorney in Salt Lake City, Utah, primarily involved in construction related matters. During that time we added two children to our family. As of this writing (May 30, 2003), our children are Jay (23) Becca (21) Cecily (16) and Sam (14). Jay attended BYU before he served in the Kenya Nairobi Mission. He had a great mission and is continuing at BYU now (currently in India on a study abroad). Becca has been married for just almost two years and presented us with our first grandchild (a girl) at the end of June 2002. Since my wife and I married, my family has enjoyed living in a number of different apartments and homes, attending a number of different wards, and having numerous apportunities to serve in Church callings and otherwise. We currently live in South Jordan, Utah, and are in the process of building a new home there.

I have done a poor job of keeping in touch with my old companions and other Mission friends. In my work I have run across a few of them but I have not kept in touch. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who served a Mission at the same time or in the same areas I did.
