Presidents: B. Renato Maldonado E. (1996 - 1999) | Served: 1996 - 1998 | Language(s) spoken:Spanish | Areas Served: Milagro, Durán, Quevedo, Portoviejo, Guayaquil | Companions: Derron Arnson | Jeremy Crowton | Cesar Duta Sanmartin | Your Occupation: Consultant | Spouse: Sylvia Williams | Comments: I began my mission in the Ecuador Guayaquil Mission (before the mission split again), arriving in the country in March 1996. My first area was Milagro and my trainer was Jorge Mena from Quito.
Leaving that area after the mission split, I moved into the Guayaquil North mission area and served in Durán, Portoviejo, "la oficina", Quevedo, and serving for quite some time as a Coordinator. I ended my mission serving in several areas in Guayaquil, and returned home in January 1998.
Upon release, my stake president counseled me not to get married before 6 months or after 6 years, so just about 6 months on the dot I married by lovely wife, Sylvia Williams (yep...her maiden name was Williams also). We have 3 children (1 boy and 2 girls).
I came home and worked as a systems architect for Georgia Pacific. Since then, I've worked at Compaq/HP and John H. Harland Company in several senior technical and leadership positions.
Finished with being a "corporate" employee, I've started a consulting firm, Williams & Garcia, LLC, with my "socio" from the Dominican Republic. We assist our clients with optimized enterprise infrastructure architecture and application delivery, serving several Fortune 500 companies.
Heavenly Father has definitely blessed my life since my return, and I thank all of my friends and companions from the mission for your support during those wonderful years! |
