Comments:
I came to Ecuador after a year in the Chile, Santiago North, mission. My health had deteriorated and the Brethren sent me north. I worked in Quito with Brian Merrill; in Ibarra with Chi Smith, Bob Meunch, and Sofocles Moran; and in Pasto with Elder Royer.

I came home in June 1982 and took a BA in English, an MA in linguistics, and then taught at Ricks for several years. In 1996, I got a law degree. Thereafter, I worked as an attorney for 13 years, mostly in municipal law and land use. I'm on disability leave right now, though, trying to recover from a lifetime of injury and illness.

In 1983, I met and married Laura Ann Belnap of American Fork. We have seven children: Dan (24) served in the Japan, Fukuoka, mission and now studies engineering; Sam (22) served in Mississippi, Jackson, came home, got married, and now studies psychology; Bethany (20), an artist and writer; Digory (17) studies philosophy & sings; Jeremy (15) studies videogames; Jedrik (13) reads like there's a book shortage & studies Dickens' Christmas Carol; and Evelyn (8).
