The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued an official news release announcing the open house and dedication dates for the Paris France Temple. The open house will begin Saturday, April 22, and continue through Saturday, May 13, 2017. Free guided tours will be offered each day of the open house except for Sundays, April 23, April 30, and May 7. Free reservations will become available through an online reservation system (templeopenhouse.lds.org) a few weeks before the open house begins. Additional information will be provided through this mailing list as the open house draws near.

The temple will be dedicated on Sunday, May 21, 2017, in three sessions at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 3:00 p.m. The services will be broadcast to meetinghouses in France and French-speaking units in the Europe Area. The three-hour block of meetings will be canceled for that Sunday. Additional information and dedication tickets will be provided through local priesthood leaders. A cultural celebration will be held the evening before the dedication on Saturday, May 20, 2017.

I have made friends with a French couple that are the directors of a children's choir in Paris. I invited them to come to Church with me and listen to our Primary children as they practiced their songs for the Primary program. The children sang with such fervor and enthusiasm...the Spirit so strong. it brought me to tears! They were touched too, and asked if they could have a copy of the music which I gladly gave to them! I also gave them a French Book of Mormon. In it I bore my testimony in my rusty French. I would be very grateful if missionaries were sent to them!!

Their names are: Francis and Martine Bardot
Address: 37 rue Ampere
75017 PARIS
FRANCE

Also, I have been trying to find the children's song book and CD's in French to send them, but can't find them. If you could get these to them as a way of introduction it would be better, since they are so involved with children's music! And be sure to tell them this is a gift from me, in memory of their recent visit to the Primary children of Kanab, UT!
Thank you in advance!! And PLEASE!!! Let me know how it turns out!!

Attention all French speaking returned missionaries! They need your help at the MTC in the NRC. If you have one spare hour, if you can introduce yourself, ask what their names are and where they are serving their mission, read your favorite scripture and pray in French, you qualify. You can sign up on the Google Docs spreadsheet at:

For those who are not on Facebook, here is the obituary;

Heber Maughan Thompson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 after an extended illness. He was born May 23, 1935 in Park City, Utah to James Vincent and Bessie Maughan Thompson. He spent his childhood in Salt Lake City and Richland, Washington. He graduated from Richland High School where he was on the high school tennis and football teams. He attended Brigham Young University where he was on the tennis team, served as Viking Social Unit President as well as Student Body Vice-President. He graduated in 1960 with a BA in French and received an MBA from Stanford University in 1962. He served a 2 1/2 year, full-time LDS mission to France from 1956-1958.

After his mission, he met Vicki Durrant at BYU. They married on August 13, 1959 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and the following June graduated together. They have eight children; Paul (Marilyn), Sheri (Brent) Goodsell, Brian (Shaunna), Michele (Alan) Carter, Michael (Kimberlee), Denise (Ray) Stewart, Cynthia (Jason) Taylor, and Lindsey (Caroline). His children looked up to his example of service to family, church and community.

Heber worked for GE in Schenectady, NY; Syracuse, NY; Phoenix, AZ and Los Angeles, CA. He also worked for IBM in Los Gatos, CA; Rochester, MN and Endicott, NY. He worked for the LDS Church as the Manager of Bishops' Storehouses, Area Director for Northern California and the Director of Membership and Statistical Records Division.

He was a dedicated member of the LDS Church, serving as Bishop in San Jose, California and the BYU 8th Stake; as Branch President in Rochester, Minnesota, and in Stake Presidencies in San Jose, California; BYU, and American Fork. His favorite Church assignment was as France Paris Mission President from 1993 to 1996.

Never one for retirement, Heber enjoyed serving the community he loved. He was elected Mayor of American Fork from 2006 to 2010. He enjoyed singing in musical groups, golfing, woodworking, teaching and spending time with his family. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife and children, two brothers; James V. Thompson of Seattle, WA and Ralph M. Thompson of Yakima, WA. He leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the Thompson family Tuesday, December 6 from 6-8 PM at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North in American Fork or Wednesday, December 7 from 9 - 10:30 AM at the American Fork East Stake Center, 825 East 500 North in American Fork. Quelle paroisse pour les reunions du dimanche? 23 Sep 2011
Bonjour tout le monde!

We have friends going to Paris in a couple of weeks and they're going to stay near Notre Dame. Do you know which ward is the closest to them? I saw that St Merri is in the same arrondissement. Do they have sacrament meeting at the St Merri building? If not, do they have to go all the way to the Paris Lilas building?
They're also going to visit Normandy, but not sure if they'll be there on a Sunday.

Thanks for your help!

Anne Monclin 15 Feb 2011
For those who knew Sister Anne Monclin of the Angouleme branch, she passed away last week. She had been in a rest home for several years with Alzheimer's so this was a great release for her. She was a wonderful asset to the Angouleme branch and will be missed by all.

Site Access - Passwords 01 Oct 2010
Salut tout le monde!

I wanted to post a quick message regarding the mission site. The most common issue/request I get is for lost/forgotten passwords. The site is setup to allow auto-retrieval of your passwords, but the problem is that many of you use email accounts from your place of work, or provided by your internet service provider. These change on a regular basis, and they you cannot recover the password...

I highly recommend that you create and use a webmail account with a site such as Yahoo, GMail, Hotmail or other free email account that can stay with you regardless of where in the world you move, and can be accessed from any web connection, anywhere, any time!

I recently found a large collection of password requests that were trapped in my junk mail folder, and for that I apologize that I did not reset and send your support emails sooner.

A bientôt,

Rich

Pres. Jones Reunion 03 Aug 2009
FYI - President Jones let me know that doing a reunion this fall would be a challenge for them, if not impossible, as they are not going to be released from their position in the Mesa Arizona Temple Presidency until November 1. This would not preclude anyone from having a reunion, but it would be great if we waited until next spring or fall to allow more notice and of course to have President and Sister Jones be able to attend. In his own words, "It is time for a reunion, which I think is long overdue!" - Thoughts? Feedback? Rich Asay

Pres Jones 03 Aug 2009
Blomquist and I have talked about doing this like every year and we never get more than just talking.
FYI - my grandparents have the perfect venue, they have the Brown's Pond property in Draper...very condusive to parties, inside or out. I live in Las Vegas, so it's hard for me to organize anything, but if someone wanted to organize it...we could just use e-vite.com or whatever. Potluck? Anyway, just to let you all know we could use the property, kids can feed the ducks, paddle boats, etc. Comments?

Wanda West Palmer & Bertha A. Kleinman 22 Mar 2009
This is my first message. Some time ago someone in France translated the English
words into French from the song: "Mary's Lullaby", Written by sisters who are members of the church, for the Arizona Easter Pageant. It is a song sung by Mary as she rocks baby Jesus. Music by Wanda West Palmer, Words by Bertha A. Kleinman. There are many songs by this name, so not to get confused, the English goes like this: "All mine in your lov-li-ness, baby all mine. All mine in your hol-i-ness, baby divine. Sing on herald angels in chorus sublime. For you are a king, but tonight you are mine."

Today I was with my friend Wanda West Palmer, at our Stake Conference. It was there that our Arizona Temple Presidents wife told us about the translation. She is Sister Jones. I promised Wanda that I would search for those words. It has already been translated in Spanish. We would like to know the author of the French words so we can give that person credit. We may record and publish it. So, please if you have any information about this, please contact me.
Merci, Jeannette Viers Brooks
