When President Busche replaced President Myers, President Myers was transferred to the Austria Vienna Mission, where he completed his term as a mission president -- he was a CES employee. Both he and Sister Meyers served as full-time missionaries in the 1960s under President Blythe Gardner.

Pres. Myers Passed Away 07/19/2002
Kenneth Ryan Myers, 60, of Lehi, passed away in his home on Friday, July 19, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ken was diagnosed with cancer in October 2001 and was an example to all during his illness. He maintained a positive attitude without complaining throughout the last year.

Ken was born November 28, 1941, the eldest son of K. Holley and Wilma Green Myers. He grew up in Pocatello, ID. He served in the South German Mission from 1960-1963 where he developed a love for the German language and the people of Europe, which he retained throughout his life.

He married Gisela Zander in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 17, 1964. He
loved his wife, his six children and six grandchildren and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. He showed interest in their various activities and had a way of making each one of them feel that he/she was loved.

Ken was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his good example affected people throughout the world. He served in various callings including being a mission president in Munich, Germany and Vienna, Austria; a stake president in Pullman, WA and Saratoga, CA; a bishop in Antelope, CA and various other callings. He especially loved working with the youth of the Church and he received the Silver Beaver award for his work with the Boy Scouts of America.

Teaching was one of Ken’s greatest passions. He worked for the Church Educational System as a teacher and administrator for 26 years. He loved the people he worked with and was able to travel throughout the world and meet many wonderful people. He always put other people’s needs before his own. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Gisela, of Lehi; 5 sons and 1 daughter, K. Michael (Sharon) Myers, San Jose, CA; David R. Myers, San Francisco, CA; Robert A. (Melisse) Myers, London, England; Bryan Z.(Rachel) Myers, Sacramento, CA; Heidi L. (Lynn) Meek, Lehi; 6 grandchildren, Justin, Rebecca, Tyler, and Jared Meek of Lehi; and Marcus and Kyle Myers of San Jose, CA; 1 brother and 4 sisters, Kelly C. (Cathy) Myers, Palisade, CO; Susan (Neil) Fullmer, Soda Springs, ID; Mary L. (Jerry) Poulson, Pocatello, ID; Lisa D. (Dan) Krynski, Stow, OH; Holley K. (Trevor) Henderson, Pocatello, ID.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 26, 2002 at 11:00 am in the Lehi Eighth Ward Chapel. Presiding and speaking at the service was Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin.
