I am interested in getting a task force together to assist in the clean up efforts. I need some info as to which would be most helpfull. Which would be the best way to assist: 1. hands on 2. Cash donations 3. sending actual supplies?
Please send me an update and any contact information. We are willing to actually come down for 2 weeks. Would that be a wasted or ineffecient way to approach this?

To Pres. & Sister Beckstead,
We are fine, living in Minnesota now. Have a new baby boy--Aaron, six in all. Josh is in TQ now, Mike is Scoutmaster and Dannine is in RS presy. Don't worry about writing back to us, as we have heard the new rule about e-mail. We think of you folks a lot. Hope your mission has gone well. Hope, too, that the people there will be able to overcome the loss of life and property due to the storms. Honduras will never be the same, but maybe it will end up better in the end.

I received an email message written by the mission president's wife about the affects of Mitch. Especially of interest was the efforts of missionaries and church members to provide help to residents. I don't have the email address, but I would like to find out more. A(nm)friend made a donation to the Church Humanitarian Fund because she was impressed with the efficiency of the church. Send me an update on what's happening so I can share info with my friend.

If you would like to contribute money to help in Honduras, please go through the Church. In reading articles on the net I have found, to my dismay, that the American Red Cross has collected over 1 million dollars for Honduras but they are not able to send the money out of the US. If the money had been contributed to the International Red Cross that would be different but the American Red Cross has to use donated money within the US only. The Church system is the best and surest way to help. They are still accepting cash and other donations. Right now they are looking for clothing, shoes, tools for rebuilding, shovels, pics and items of this kind. These items can be taken to any DI and labled for Honduras. The Church will get them there..

Served in Costa Rica, San Jose Mission from Nov. '74 to Nov. 76. The mission at that time included Honduras. Wondering if anyone has an update on a few people. Alexis Machuca Dominguez was baptized in 1975. He's from La Paz, Honduras, served a mission in Central America, married, served as Branch President in La Paz. I have lost all contact with him. Anyone know of him, and how he's getting along? The other family is the Santos family baptized in Tegucigalpa in 1976. Family consists of the mother Felicia Angelica Santos Mejia; children: Lesly Carolina Pineda Santos, Fernando Erazo Santos, Duoniz Erazo Santos, Mesalina Erazo Santos, Ulices Virgilio Erazo Santos, Laura Patricia Pineda Santos (too young at the time to be baptized), Steven Michael Pineda Santos (also too young for baptism at the time); and their friends: Lorenzo Dure Sosa and Lourdes Margot Constanza Alonzo. If anyone has information on how these good people are doing, and/or how I might contact them, please email me. Thanks.

I didn't serve in your mission (I served in Uruguay and Paraguay), but I wanted to leave this message on your website....I have written a book titled "101 Missionary Stories You Won't Read In The Ensign", which, as you might imagine from the title is a collection of very funny missionary stories from around the world. I am about 2/3 of the way through with Volume 2 and I'd love to include stories from your mission. I'm not looking for anything having to do with apostacy or serious sin; just the light hearted, crazy, offbeat stuff that happens while we're trying to preach the gospel. I change the names to protect the guilty and I'd really like to put your funny experiences in the next book. Send me your stories at misstories@aol.com-thanks!!

While in La Ceiba my companion and I taught an artist and mariner named Farid Gozan. He gave up a lot to join the Church and had a great potential to lead. I was wondering if anyone knew if he was still in La Ceiba, still active, and how the Branch in La Ceiba is progressing. Thanks, Fran.

I need a job in Honduras, or some activity that would at least be subsistence. I've traveled in Honduras, Mexico...Central America. I've applied for the PeaceCorp but hear little. They say they don't usually take married people serving without spouse. I'm interested in a travel partner via bus from Nogales, Mexico(the Arizona-Mexico frontier) in July 1998. I'm interested in living and working down south and could use some advise on who to contact.

I currently compile listings every General Conference for missionary reunions held in and around Salt Lake City, Utah. These are published in the Deseret News newspaper. The reunion date/times are also posted on the world wide web, www.desnews.com. I have noticed that there have not been any reunions listed for a few years. Those involved should make sure we have the information before General Conference time rolls around.

I am looking for an elder currently serving in this mission. His name is Elder Jonathan Weske. I'm his friend from Springville Utah and I've just had this option made available to contact him via internet and I would appreciate any assistance in contacting him that I might recieve. I was told that he gets frequently ill due to poor conditions, about once a week. By the way, this is one of the better mission sites that I have seen, good job!

PS:  Matt, please contact me with a complete e-mail address so I can link to it. You only sent me the first part. Thanks!   Webmaster
