Comments: Prior to my mission I attended the United States Military Academy (USMA) Class of '84 @ West Point, NY for two years. I resigned from the Academy in '82 to serve a mission (as I'd planned before entering) and then re-applied, was re-accepted, and re-entered after my mission to finish up my last two years with the Class of '86. I served in the US Army for 21 years and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2007. While in the Army I flew helicopters (OH58A/C & D and UH-1) and was an IT professional. I was stationed in the Pentagon during 9-11 but was fortunately not in my office during the incident-a blessing. I moved a dozen times while in the military and served all over the US and overseas (including Germany & Egypt). I'm now support the military as a contractor in Dayton, OH. I've been married for 22 years to my best friend and we have 5 wonderful children (ages 5 to 20). The 20yo is serving in the Colorado Denver South Mission presently. I was recently released as bishop of the O'Fallon 1st Ward in southern Illinois. I enjoyed my mission, learned a lot, and developed a strong testimony of the gospel. I honor and respect all those that serve. |
