Meet President John L. Sakamaki
President
John Sakamaki is the stake president of in the Hilo
Hawaii Stake (as of 1993) and member of the Ainaola Ward. He has
been a high councilor, bishop, branch president and high priests group
leader. From 1971-73, he served in the Japan Central Mission. He earned
a bachelor's degree in sociology in 1967 from Western Washington State
University, and is now president of a moving, storage and trucking
company. He was previously branch manager at a savings and loan company.
He was born in Keaau, Hawaii, a son of Paul Fukuo and Elsie Teruko Uyeno
Sakamaki. On July 3, 1976, he married Ann N. Hirowatari and are parents
of 6 children Two of which were born in Japan during their service
to the Japan Fukuoka Mission. Sister Sakamaki, a daughter of George Masaharu and Dorothy Sachiko Kawahara Hirowatari, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a counselor in a stake Primary presidency, counselor in a ward Primary presidency and ward Relief Society secretary.
CONGRATULATIONS!! The Sakamakis were proud to announce that the first marriage of one of their children took place on August 12th, 2000.
