Meet President Takashi C. Shimizu

 

 

 

President Takashi C. Shimizu served in the Palm Desert Ward, Palm Springs California Stake, as mission leader. He has also served as bishop and bishop's counselor, high councilor, stake Young Men counselor, ward Young Men president, and Senior Aaronic Priesthood secretary. He was from Smithfield, Utah, a son of Toru and Sai Kato Shimizu. He attended the University of California at Davis and served in the Army during World War II. He operated a landscaping business. He married Seiko Gene Koike who was born in Logan, Utah and they have 4 children.

Sister Shimizu has served as ward librarian and mother education leader in Relief Society, stake, Sunday School and Primary. She is a special service school nurse for severely handicapped children in the Riverside County Schools. The Shimizus have four children.

On February 14, 1988, President Shimizu passed away in Palm Desert, Calif., of natural causes. He was 62.
