Comments: I served 6 years in Air Force Reserve, I worked for a national medical reference laboratory and then I spent 11 years as an active duty Naval officer, four of which we spent back in 沖縄, attending church in the old Futenma chapel in the military district. Then I transferred to the U.S. Public Health Service and now manage a laboratory for the Indian Health Service on one of the Arizona Indian reservations.
Until a couple of years ago I served continuously in Branch Presidencies, District Council, Clerk, Stake Missionary, etc. etc. etc.
Now I consider myself agnostic and not even christian, much less Mormon. Except for my disbelief I'd actually still be worthy of a temple recommend based on behavior, but eventually I couldn't reconcile the church's discrepancies anymore, the ones that even GAs have admitted but characterize as those "chestnuts on the shelf" to be left there and ignored.
A favorite quote:
Faith, however well intentioned must be based on facts not fiction. Faith in fiction is a damnable false hope. [Thomas Edison] |
