Stories: Yet Another Otaru Memory...

E. Rogers and E. Caldwell,
It is good to hear from you. I have enjoyed your comments on the Otaru apartment.
I left Kushiro and Elder Rogers as my companion to go be companions with Elder Caldwell in Otaru.
E. Caldwell, do you remember my first morning there when we had gone out to walk in the morning? A couple of kids had taken our bikes for a joy ride. As I remember it, we caught one that was trying to get away. I remember grabbing him by the back of his shirt and pulling him off the bike as he rode away. We were dragging him over to the cop box and he was begging us to let him go. "Gaijin san, yuru shite kudasai...(sp?)" or, words to that effect. So we gave him a Book of Mormon and turned him loose.
Ya know, what I remember most about the Otaru apato was the amazing amount of dust on the first and second floors. Even though the third floor was cleaner, it did not seem to matter how much you cleaned the apato, it just looked dirty.
So many memories... =)!
Rogers Choro, mea culpa. I know I owe you an email that is long overdue. I will send one soon.
Hope you both are doing well.
Cheers,
Danny |
