Elder 11 Dec 2003
Speaking of people forgetting you, I went back to Atsubetsu in 1993, 4 years after the end of my release, and was asked to testify in the Atsubetsu ward. Brother Tsuchida from the Shiroishi ward, who I had known well in Shiroishi, was there on high council assignment. I sat next to him on the stand, before speaking, and he said to me, "hajimemashite." I didn't let on at all and got up to speak and told the ward of the many great experiences I had had with Bro. Tsuchida, and of the many memorable lessons we had taught together to investigators. I then told them that with much emotion and nostalgia I approached Bro. Tsuchida on the stand and that he turned to me and said, "hajimemashite." The congregation roared with laughter and a sheepish and very embarrassed Bro. Tsuchida got up and begged my forgiveness. That was pretty cruel of me wasn't it.
