Language Volunteers 05 Jul 2012
I receieved the following message the other day and would recommend anyone with an interest in volunteering to help with language training, either at the MTC in person or via Skype/phone to get in touch with the program.

"Hello Bro. Pooley,

I am the Volunteer Coordinator for Senior Language Training at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. We have a senior couple who have been called to serve in the Marshall Islands in a Kiribati speaking area.
We have a great need for volunteers to help with this language! We have only two Marshallese speakers on our volunteer list and zero Kiribati speakers.

Because of the nature of the language training that we do with senior missionaries, many of our volunteers do not live in the Provo area. We have a great need for Marshallese and Kiribati volunteers and would love to have volunteers that can help here at the MTC or via Skype or the phone.

Would you please be willing to email the members of this mission site and ask them if they would like to help? Our phone number is 801-422-5963 and our email address is smtcvolunteer@gmail.com

Thank you!

Karen Lillywhite
Volunteer Coordinator
Senior Language Training at the MTC"

Marshallese speakers 22 Mar 2010
Yokwe!

Did you speak Marshallese on you mission? Do you live in the Salt Lake or Utah Valley areas, or are you going to be here over conference weekend?

I am a professor at BYU and am looking for returned missionaries to participate in a short linguistic experiment involving Marshallese. This experiment would include your listening to and pronouncing some Marshallese words and sentences. If you are interested in participating, please contact me through the mission website or via email: heather_willson@byu.edu

Kommol tata.
