Hey I served in Nevada from 85-87 and was wondering if anyone could tell me what ever happened to Pres. Chapman? Just curious, as well as I had also heard that ELder Randall Beard, one of my past comps, was killed in a car accident. But anyway, I would love to hear from past comps as well as members I knew as well. I am currently Divorced and living in Iowa. My two kids, A son and Daughter live with their mother in Iowa City. I am also an LPN that is the most recent update. Catch you later.. Dan |

Hello,
Would you be able to tell me the best way to put out the word ? Do you know anyone in your mission who is interested in sharing info to help people connect? I am looking for a live in job as a companion or Nanny, and prefer to find a church family. It's not easy to put out the word. people are a bit skeptic, or think just because they don't know a member looking for a nanny or live in person, that it does not excist. I know a family needs me, someplace... I just need to find them, and we need a way to connect. I am not from the are, I am willing to relocate. Please share any contact you know who would be willing to post a message, or word of mouth, or someone willing to make an anouncement in releif society that there is a live in companion/nanny available. I can be emailed, remove the 22 in travel.disney22@juno.com. I've written some letters to stakes/wards, but nobody has been willing to pass along the information. sharing information/networking is essential to help eachother isn't it? I am looking for a job, not a free ride, etc. I am a valuable member, human with a service someone might need. Please get back to me with names/email , ideas etc..., Thank you so much! yes, i call ads in the papers. I feel strongly that spreading the word is the way to go. Iam not in a hurry, I am waiting for the right place, and time in gods will. thanks |

Hey congratulations on your call to the NVLV mission. The issue of clothing is tough. From what I understand they have changed the mission so you will only be in Las Vegas, when I was there it was the whole state so we needed to plan on possible winters in Reno and summers in Vegas. The summers in Vegas are hot. I always wore 100% cotton. It seemed to breathe easier. Also short sleeve shirts worked wonderfully. To understand what a summer in Vegas is like, try riding an excersize bike while looking into a hair dryer. We were never forced to wear a suit while out and about, except for district and zone meetings. As well as church. When you attend those meetings you will also need to have long sleeve shirts. If you have any other questions please feel free to write. Good Luck and God speed. |

My father, Michael R. Mathis served in this mission in 79-81, I believe... but I can't find anything about him on here... am I just crazy, or is there stuff hidden on here? At any rate, he came back to Vegas, married Dawn L. Wadsworth, and raised 4 awesome kids... one of whom is on a mission in Louisville, KY right now... (me) but, I just wanted to see if anyone knew anything. Much love! |
