Dec 1946 - Arrived in NZ serving in the Wairau District with Elder Ray H. Lloyd
June 1947 - Served in Blenheim with Elder Lloyd.
March 1948 - Elder Lloyd was released to go home and served with Elder Packard.
June 1948 - Served in Blenheim with Elder Packard. The branch in Nelson was organized
July 24, 1948 - President Halversen was released and Gordon C. Young arrived with his family.
August 1948 - Served in Wairau District with Elder Packard. Called to be teacher of the Senior class. Elder Chamberlain was involved in a building project. He helped remodel a home for the District Headquarters in Nelson.
Dec 1948 - Elder Chamberlain was released to go home in AZ, USA.

Valden served his entire mission in the Wairau District in the South Island. We are searching for information from families of missionaries from this era and local families from the Blenheim, Nelson and Christchurch areas who may remember him. He kept in contact writing frequently to families in NZ right up until he passed away in 1993. Unfortunately we have no records of his correspondence with them over the years. We welcome any journal entries, photos or memories of him, we'd love to hear from you.
