News Item: Eldste Paul V. Johnson called as new commissioner of CES

June 7, 2008 - Elder Paul V. Johnson (1973-1975) has been called by the Church as the new commissioner of the Church Education System, replacing Elder W. Rolfe Kerr.
The commissioner of Church education directs the operations of Church higher education institutions, including BYU, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii and LDS Business College. This is done under the direction of the Church Board of Education and Board of Trustees.
Elder Johnson has served in the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy, an Area Authority Seventy in the Utah North Area, and as an Area Authority Seventy to the Utah Salt Lake City Area. He was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 2, 2005.
