Guinsaugon mudslides 21 Feb 2006
Prayers go out to those affected by the Guinsaugon (part of St. Bernard) mudslides.

I opened up the the east part of Southern Leyte in Hinunangan with Elder Dapar in Dec. '96, came back to St. Bernard in early '98 to finish up my mission there. (St. Bernard, Liloan, and San Juan/Cabalian opened up after I went up to Samar and Ormoc.) Elder Reynolds and I once took a jeepney from St. Bernard up to Guinsaugon (or maybe another small barrio that was the end of the line) and then walked through Guinsaugon to Hinunangan, going through the pass behind the volcano bordering San Juan, saying 'komusta' to people along the way. It was a great p-day. Beautiful area, very friendly people. We could have been the first 'Canos many of them had ever seen.

Anyone have the latest news on the panghitabo in Southern Leyte? I'd be really interested in hearing the latest from Hinunangan and St. Bernard.

President & Sister Revillo 03 Sep 2005
Hello Friends,

My beautiful wife and I just returned from a 12 day Pag-duaw to the Pilipinas, primarily in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. Ahhhh, what a wonderful thing to be back in the Bisayas again!! Anyhow, the capstone of our trip was the sealing of my wife to her parents in Manila.

While staying in Manila at the temple, I ran into President and Sister Revillo, who are just 2 months into a 24 month mission in the Manila Philippines Temple Mission. It was a great pleasure to be in the circle in prayer with our former Mission President as he officiated one of the sessions I attended.

Both of them look the same, bisan pa napulo ka-tuig ang naglabay na. Sister Revillo looks beautiful still "kuno", but it's really true. :-)

Anyhow if any of you are at the Manila Temple, you will likely see President and Sister Revillo working there. Their example of selfless service in The Lord's Kingdom is worthy of being an example to all of us.
