When our mission ended in 1979, Elder Stevens was asked to serve as CES director for Europe West Area (Netherlands and latin Europe). We lived a year in Frankfurt, and moved back to Geneva in 1980.

Elder Stevens was called as regional representative, initially in southern France, later to Spain and Portugal. On his watch stakes were formed in Nice-Marseille, Geneva, Barcelona, and Lisbon, and from small beginnings in the Geneva mission, the flow of EWA young men and young women to serve missions grew to nearly a hundred a year.

In 1982 we moved to Provo. Our eldest, David, began at BYU. Being in Provo let us extend our parenting time with him and all the younger children. Provo was home during the phase of family life when the door opens and closes often with children leaving and returning from school and missions, and finally leave to embark on life's main mission--marriage and parenting.

David served in Greek and Spanish in Chicago mission. Ben served in French in Montreal. Andy served in Portuguese in Brazil, near where Elder Stevens served. Sarah served in French in Reunion. Becca married before serving. All are are now established coast to coast across the United States, and take pride in demonstrating that they can outdo us as parents.

Till 1985 Elder Stevens continued as regional representative, spending a weekend every month in Spain and Portugal. He worked with software, wireless data, and antennas, and taught international business at BYU. Sister Stevens taught organ at BYU and piano at her home studio. She played noon recitals at the Salt Lake City Tabernacle for eight years. We served together in the BYU 3rd stake for five years.

In May 1999 our last daughter married in the temple. Every child and spouse was with us at that great moment--our day of graduation as parents. A month later we were in the mission field again. We have been in the field ever since. (See Sister Stevens' profile for details).
