Comments: President and Sister J. Kent Larkin were called to serve as the Taiwan Taichung Mission President, succeeding President and Sister Dennis Kim. President Larkin is a native of Granite, Utah where he grew up on a mink ranch and fruit farm. He learned to ski on the slopes behind his home and has kept skiing through his career and on into his retirement, teaching skiing at Sundance in Provo Canyon. President Larkin served in Taiwan 38 years ago when it was in the Southern Far East Mission. His Chinese has been in the closet for all these years, as his Air Force career did not place him in Chinese speaking areas, but with the Lord's help and spending some time at the MTC, he is becoming more proficient. Sister Larkin is from Cedar City, Utah. She graduated from the LDS Business College and worked at the University of Utah and then at Murdock Travel. The rest is history, she met President Larkin and they began seeing the world. They have two daughters, Kortnai Kai and Kamaree June. Both are marr |
