Presidents: Boyd Hales (1976 - 1979) | Served: 1975 - 1977 | Areas Served: I began my mission in Tainan, with Howard Gardner. After I wore him out, Tom Oldham was put in charge of me. After five months, I was moved to Nantou, where I was with Harvey Clark. The next move, I went to Pan Chiao with Steven Ke | Your Occupation: Engineer at NPR | Comments: After Taiwan, I went to BYU. In 1982, I finished BYU, and came to work at National Public Radio as an engineer. I've been here ever since. I've gone back to school a few times -- I picked up an associate's degree in architectural drafting, and another in fine arts photography. I spent two years studying for my Paramedic certification. I volunteer at the local rescue squad, and also as a (mainly) rural search-and-rescue communications specialist. I renewed the ham radio license I first earned as an 11-year-old, and think nothing is quite so fun as setting up complex, multi-site, itinerant search-and-rescue radio systems. I also have urban SAR certs from NASAR and FEMA, and did some work at the Pentagon on September 12 and 13. (I'm sure I'll have more to say once I ruminate on my life some more.) |
