I was a missionary from Feb 2, 1968 to March 1969 under the direction of Presidents Keith E. Garner and Brent Hardy. I served in Bangkok, but traveled with Alan Hess as the first missionaries to visit Phitsanulok, Lam Pang, and Chiang Mai. My companions while I was in Thailand were Carl Hansen, George Brown and Alan Hess. ( I also worked from time to time with Anan Eldredge after he was called to the mission in 1969.)

In 1991 my wife and I were called to preside over the Thailand Bankok Mission. During the time we served and building on the work of the other presidents and missionaries we opened a number of branches and in March 1994 escorted the first missionaries into Cambodia. We also made initiatives in Laos.

I visited Thailand to pick up our daughter Sarah in 1999, in October 2006. The church is growing and there are some beautiful buildings now in Thailand. Alan Hess and I a former companion also returned and visited in February 2008 and saw Sister Srilaksana as well as other friends including our former companion Robert Winegar who serves as the president of the Cambodia Mission.

We now have 10 grandchildren and five of our six children are married. It does not seem possible that we returned from Thailand 16 years ago. It was a wonderful experience and I continue to miss the brothers and sisters there.

I would love to hear from any past missionaries, especially those who served with Sister White and me.
