Alaska Anchorage Mission Song
(Sung with gusto to the tune "In Our Lovely Deseret")
Verse 1:
From the shining northern lights to the days as dark as night,
From the Yukon to the Aleutians of the sea;
From the Savior comes our call; we must preach to one and all,
We will teach the truth, the truth will make men free.
CHORUS:
Anchorage, Alaska Mission! Here our banner is unfurled;
We have lots of work to do 'til this noble task is through;
We are proud to take our message to the world.
Verse 2:
As an army here we stand; we are at the Lord's command;
We must fight the adversary to the end.
We will win, and when we do, with our colors brave and true,
We will stand tall as the kingdom we defend!
CHORUS:
Anchorage, Alaska Mission! Here our banner is unfurled;
We have lots of work to do 'til this noble task is through;
We are proud to take our message to the world.
Verse 3:
We know what we have to do. To our callings we'll be true,
For we know just how much every soul is worth.
In this greatest brotherhood, we'll do everything we should;
For we're in the greatest mission on the earth!
CHORUS:
We don't quit until we conquer; we're not satisfied with less.
Here we serve with all our hearts, true and faithful from the start;
Alaska is the place to serve; it is the best!
(For verse four sing the first three lines quite slowly, with a fermata or holding out the words 'love,' 'above,' 'untold,' 'through,' and 'too.' On the last line "We'll proclaim..." move back into the regular, upbeat tempo.)
Verse 4:
In this labor full of love, with our faith in God above,
And a heritage of sacrifice untold,
With the Lord to guide us through, and a living Prophet, too,
We'll proclaim the truth like Paul in times of old!
CHORUS:
We don't quit until we conquer; we're not satisfied with less.
Here we serve with all our hearts, true and faithful from the start;
Alaska is the place to serve; it is the best!
It is the coldest, toughest, hardest, and the best!
(The last line is sung a bit more slowly and emphatically, using same melody of the line above "Alaska is the place to serve...")

(We also sang this song to another tune that I believe was written by Sister Hales and Elder Robinson.)
