This is a voice from the past. I'm sister Nydia Harris, wife of Elder John
A. Harris, your mission presidents. We live in Santiago, Chile since three
years ago where my husband works for the Commercial section at the US
Embassy. We became US Citizens quite a number of years ago and have always
moved around Latin America even before working for the US goverment. After
the mission days, we went back to Provo, Utah where my husband got his MBA
and then we moved to New Caannan, Conn where he worked for IBM Americas Far
East Corporation in Tarrytown, NY. IBM moved us a year later to Caracas,
Venezuela where we lived for two and a half years. From Venezuela we
returned with our five children to Salt Lake City where my husband worked
for different companies for ten years till he joined the US Foreign
Commercial Service in 1993 and we began moving again, first to Monterrey, Mexico, later to Mexico City, Mexico and since three years ago to Santiago,
Chile where we have one more year since this August. Our children are all
grown, our youngest son borned after the missions is 21 and a returned
missionary himself and is at the Y. Our three older children are married and
live in Utah, two daughters in Salt Lake and our oldest son John in Layton.
Our forth child,and mission baby Jonathan is married and lives in
California.
My husband continues to be the second counselor in the area presidency.
