This page contains some of the history of the church in the Patagonia since the creation of the Argentina Neuquen Mission in 1993.
In 1993 the mission's name was changed from Trelew to the Argentina Neuquen Mission. The mission home was relocated to Neuquen, the capital of the Province of Neuquen. The first President was Luis Coronel from Santa Fe, Argentina. The church showed incredible growth as new Stakes were formed in Bariloche, Zapala, and other areas.
In July of 1996 President Hector Huerta from Mexico City, Mexico became the next mission president. In the short time that followed many new areas opened and the church continued to grow.
In July of 1999, President Richard George began serving as the mission president.
