| While Elder Mark Peacock and I were companeros and serving in la oficina de la mision, we found a way to entertain ourselves one leisurely afternoon during a break from our busy routine in the office. We discovered a hornet's nest in the tall tree between the mission home and the office. We began to toss sticks at the nest and were successful at knocking a gaping hole in the side of the hive. Of course, this caused many angry hornets to exit the nest and divebomb us. We ran into the office and watched the air fill with buzzing hornets. We thought it was quite comical, until we noticed Pte. Fernandez coming through the back door of the mission home and heading toward the office. We watched with horror as he made his way to the office. Then we watched in total amazement as he walked through the midst of those angry hornets and entered the office without so much as a hair of his head being touched! In fact, he never even noticed the furious hornets buzzing around the office door! From that moment on, we knew that he was being protected by angels of the Lord in his calling as our mission president. Needless to say, we gave up our bombardment of the mission hornet's nest!!! |
