I married Julie Baldry, a Brisbane girl who served her mission in Perth, in the NZ Temple in 1977, 7 months after coming home. We have 4 wonderful children - Tim, 26 and married with 1 child, who served his mission in Pusan, South Korea and now works as an economist with the Reserve Bank; Kate, 25, who served a mission in Perth and is now studying Child Care; Jason, 20, an apprentice carpenter; and Mark, 17. My boys are all 6ft 3in and are keen basketballers. I have my own financial planning business (along with 2 partners) in Brisbane, called Retirewell. I recently completed my Master of Commerce (Financial Planning) degree. I have served as a stake mission president, high councillor, bishop's counsellor, multi-stake director of public affairs, temple ordinance worker and currently (for the 5th time) as ward mission leader. I serve in the community as president of the Family Council of Queensland, vice-president of Queensland Right to Life and on the state committee of the Australian Family Association. |
