December 1, 2007 I finished the rough draft of my debut novel, Quarterblood. It's targeted to the teen market, and I'm excited to be about halfway through its sequel. I have my website up, with chapter one posted, for anyone who is interested - www.deseretbaker.com.
My husband, Michael, continues to work at Micron as a computer programmer. He also started back to school this fall to pursue a Master's in computer science.
We continue to attend the Deaf Ward locally, and attempt to continue to improve our signing abilities. Our little girl has made remarkable progress. It's wonderful to be able to communicate. I assume that many of you from the mission remember how stifling it was to not be able to communicate right at the start...so we feel very blessed to be able to sign with her. We're busy - but life is good. |
