Medical Adversity & Priesthood Blessings 12 Jun 2012
I had a missionary companion who when I first met him I had been told had grand mal epilepsy. The mission president told me he might never learn his discussions due to it. Then we had to memorize all 7. He had done 2 or three in 5 months. He was having 10-12 seizures daily at first. What I didn't know but came to know is his stake president had told him that if he was obedient and faithful he would be sucessful on his mission. He had faith in those words and as he became obedient to all mission rules and studied and slept and we worked together; we got him Co-equal and through all the discussions. In addition we jumped our lessons from 4 to 20 plus. We started working more and teaching more, still struggling with health, changing medications and all. But through faith and prayers we taught many and baptized many. His testimony was strong and he bore it joyfully and boldly. Although these were some of the most difficult times on my mission their were many good times. Faith did precede the miracle as Pres. Kimball said and I got to see his blessing become a reality.
