It took too many years, but I finally managed to settle down and sink some roots. Bought a chunk of ground in a pretty rural valley outside of Lava Hot Springs, shut down working for a living for 18 months and built a house (finished it in December of '07). Quite the adventure, but a good one.
I managed to come through the experience with only one self-inflicted injury: shot a 3-inch nail right through the bone of my left thumb with a pneumatic framing gun. Had to pull it out with pliers and drive to the local medical clinic for a stupidly checkup.
I'm a freelance graphic designer...have been for some 12 years now. Manage to find time to do some other stuff too, like some contract teaching for Idaho State University's College of Technology, teach Hunter Education classes for the State of Idaho, raise a couple of daughters, romance a wonderful wife, and hook a few trout. |
