Elder Smith is now in the Provo MTC. His Senior Companion is Elder Gilbert from Snowflake, AZ (same state as Elder Smith). He has been asked to serve as a District Leader.
He wrote: "I am so nervous & excited for this assignment. I have to do so much more & much responsibility is upon me, but I am excited. I have felt the Spirit many times this day & know that what I am doing is what the Lord would have me do. All I can do is trust in Him & I hope each one of you knows that you can & must place your trust in Him."
The day before he entered the MTC, we "happened" to ride in the same elevator at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in SLC with Pres. and Sis. Pendleton, the incoming Mission President and his wife. What an exciting experience to meet them before they and Zachary actually start serving (especially for Zachary's parents)!! They were so kind and gracious. We look forward to Elder Smith serving with them. |
