Stories: "Not knowing before hand the things which I would do"

Shortly after getting home from my mission, my friend Jamie came up for a visit from St. George where she was attending school. I had already determined that she was going to be the girl I married because she was one of the few people who wrote faithfully to the end of my mission. Anyhow, a year latter we were engaged. It lasted about 3 months and moved unbelievably smooth. We ended up moving to Logan so she could get her degree in Music Therapy. But there was also the feeling there were other reasons we were here as well. It amazes me how when you put God the things of God and Godliness first in your life, things work for your good and those things not good for you fall out of your life or become less important. We were not planning on having a child this early, but God blessed us with a beautiful boy and the means to support him. I still can't figure out how we make ends meet, but I know it is because God has blessed us for trying to do His will. The day Malachite was born, my wife was having back pains. We didn't think much of it. She called her mom and told my wife that she was probably in labor, but not to worry, goto class because the begaining stages take a while. So, she was waiting at the bus stop when a friend who usually goes on a different bus decided (was inspired) to take the same one as my wife. Well, the pains got worse on the bus, so this friend, Becky, told her, "you are not going to class, I am taking you to the hospital. Well, a few hours latter, Malachite was born. I missed his birth by five minutes, but I am grateful the Lord was watching out for my family. The ironic thing was that class she was going to was Human Development. What great hand on demenstration that would have been! |
