Hal Arch Gardner
Born: Afton, Wyoming to Arch & Estella Gardner. He graduated from the Star Valley High School and attended the University of Wyoming graduating with a B.S. Degree in Geology. He later completed a master degree at BYU in Ed. Administration.

Hal had the privilege of being called to serve as a full-time missionary in the Eastern Canadian Mission.

He married Patricia Kelson in the Salt Lake Temple and to this eternal union has come 4 sons and 3 daughters. Hal taught seminary and was the Principal of the Cedar City North Seminary. Was ordained a Seventy by Elder Harold B. Lee. Served two Stake Missions in the Cedar West Stake, one as Stake Mission President. Later was transferred to Thatcher, Arizona where he taught institute classes at Eastern Arizona College Institute of Religion. While in Thatcher he was called as Bishop of the College Ward and was ordained to that position by President Monson. Later callings include assignments as Young men’s president, gospel doctrine teacher, and on several high councils.

Later jobs included work as a Senior Geologist for Bendix Field Engineering Co in Grand Junction, CO. and doing oil and gas exploration for Sun Oil Co. in the western US. He was later hired by the Natural Resource Section of the LDS Church at Church headquarters in Salt Lake City as a Senior Geologist. He was promoted to Group Manager of Energy, Minerals and Forest Management. His work in this department involved extensive research into and evaluation of the various mineral right holdings owned by the Church on properties located throughout the United States and Canada.

As Patricia and I have lived in a verity of different places and circumstances, my testimony continues to grow as I have recognized more and more the Lord’s hand, not only with the nations of the earth under the direction of faithful brethren, but in my life personally. The many small miracles that have and continue to happen in our daily lives witnesses to me that the Lord knows us as individuals and cares about each and every one of us. I know that the Gospel is true and that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God; that Joseph Smith is a Prophet and that we are indeed lead by Prophets today!
