I was originally called to serve in the Brazil Sao- Paulo South Mission but was unable to receive a visa. I arrived in Toronto on October 13, 1975 and was sent to Toronto where I served as a companion to Elder Dennis Clay. He also was a Portuguese speaking missionary awaiting a visa to Brazil. Elder Clay and I lived on Euclid Avenue and attended the Ossington Ward. We had the wonderful blessing of having several baptisms during the short time I was in the mission. Darlene, Nancy and mother Engalls; Mary Ann Soletzki; Holiday Negegue; Wendy Fu; were baptized before I left. On Dec. 3, 1975 I received a mission transfer to a newly opened mission, Portugal Lisbon. I attended BYU after my return and married a girl from Wyoming. We are the parents of 4 children and now have 6 grandchildren. After my return from BYU, I served as the Branch President in my home branch for several years. I have visited Toronto on a couple of different occasions but have not had the opportunity to see any of the members that I remember from the Ossington Ward. |
