I returned from Vancouver and began my master's degree at ASU in math education and have been teaching for the past 15 years -I am currently teaching middle school math at a wonderful charter school in Mesa, Az.
I am currently serving as the activities director in my ward. Its a whole new world for me as I have not ever served in this capacity. I am learning a tremendous amount and enjoying a lot more than I expected. I still love the gospel and am so grateful to have served in the Vancouver mission, because it changed my life for the better.
An exciting thing that happened in our family was my younger brother was called to this mission in Jan 2000. It was so much fun to share this experience. We only served in one common area, North Vancouver, which is the area where my mom's aunts lived. While he was there, one of them passed away and he was asked to speak at the funeral. It was a great blessing because my mom is a convert and is the only member of the church in her family.
I am excited to keep in touch and see how everyone is doing. |
