I was first taught (at the age of 16) by Elder Gossel and Elder Lechtenberg in 1975. I am current serving as Bishop of the Kelowna 2nd Ward in BC. Rose and I have 5 children, ages 1-16. I remember how Elder Lechtenberg sold his Corvette Stingray to finance his mission - that's sacrifice for a 19 year old! We lost our home in the wildfires in BC this summer along with 230 other families. We were the only Church members that suffered a loss. Although we kept all our photos, I miss all the keepsakes from my mission in Indonesia from 1979 to 1981. Oh well, I'll have to take a trip back there to some day! |
