President Haymore taught the Missionary Prep class I took in my stake before receiving my call to the Chile Osorno Mission where President Stott was serving. Pres. Haymore was enthusiastic about my call and brought over his slides of Chile to teach me about the country and people. I didn't know the Stotts before my mission, although we were from the same stake. Sister Stott knew my mother, and recognized me when I stepped off the train in Osorno. At the end of my mission, she gave me something to deliver to her son, Steven, when I got home. Steve and I were married 6 months later, just days after the Stotts returned from Chile. We gave them 5 grandchildren, 2 daughters and three sons. We have lived in Salt Lake City, Clatskanie, Oregon, and West Valley City, Utah. Our two married daughters have given us 8 grandchildren. Our handsome sons are still single (ages 28, 26, 23). |
