Sister Wood arrived at the Chile Osorno mission on 15 Jan 2008. She serves in Valdivia, Chile with Sister Riu Dias from Argentina. They are currently teaching about 5 families, and finding great joy in their missionary service. Valdivia is a city of 150,000 located about 2 hours by bus north of Osorno - about 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The area is picturesque, where two rivers meet and several inlets and bays.
In April 2008 Sister Wood was transferred from Valdivia to serve with Sister Apaza in Panguipulli, a small town about 2 hours north and east (inland) of Valdivia. Panguipulli is a lovely tourist town in the mountains, situated on a lake. Several new mission companionships were recently assigned to the area and the work is going quite well. . |
