| I arrived in Lautaro as a brand new district leader and was very worried about setting a good example. My companion E Porter was awesome and ready to work. We worked, and worked and worked and then Porter was transfered. I was then called to train E Gardea, a very prepared and spiritual missionary and we also worked and worked and worked and worked for months without a hint of success. This was very difficult for me after spending 3-4 months in Nahuelbuta (Temuco) with a dry spell. All of the sudden the Lord decided to bless us and gave us three baptisms in Lautaro within a week or two. We found a single mother who was in desperate need of the gospel, a young man who didn't know where to go in life, and a wonderful hairstylist that Gardea found for us. That hairstylist, Adrianna is her name ended up being a strong member of the church and I sadly lost contact with her but not before I recieved news that she was to serve a mission for the Lord in Chile. What a wonderful experience it was to serve the Lord in Lautaro and really be taught the principles of determination, humility, patience, and faith. I love the people of Chile and I love those I served with. |
