After returning from my mission in 1994, I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia. During that time I met a wonderful BYU-transfer student named Elizabeth Brock. We dated off and on up to the point when she left on a mission, serving on Temple Square. It was a long 18 months, so I proposed the day she was released and we were married four months later in the Washington, D.C. temple in June 1998.
Since then I have completed medical school, a surgical internship, and diagnostic radiology residency. I am currently a fellow and junior faculty member in cardiothoracic radiology at Duke.
Elizabeth and I have six children: Brock (age 9 and the only boy), Layne (age 7), Morgan (age 5), Paige (age 4), and Taylor (age 2), and Riley (5 months).
I am still in contact with many of the wonderful families that I was privileged to teach and baptize while in Chile. I have not yet been able to return, but have been blessed to be reunited at the MTC with several of these converts who left their native Chile to serve missions in the states. |
