It seems like after 25 years I should feel all grown up, but at times I wonder...The mission was great, but short. That 18 month deal was kind of a bummer! Especially after our group spent 10 weeks in the MTC and 3 months in the Salt Lake City missions waiting for visas to Mexico that never came. If I remember correctly, we only had 13 months in the country. The Chile Santiago South mission was definitely the right place for me, but the Lord certainly took the long way around for some of us. I guess one predictable thing in life is the way the Lord keeps us guessing most of the time. I suppose we stay in tune better that way....
At least that has been true for me. If I knew when we started out that my wife and I would eventually be the parents to a household of 19 children, I think I would have figured I was listening to the wrong spirit. During our 23 years of marriage we have been blessed with 9 biological children, 4 more adopted, and 6 refugees from Africa as foster children. We have birthdays in every month of the year and at least one child in almost every grade from pre-school to the 2 at BYU Provo. There are many days that Deanne offers to trade me jobs - no thanks, mine is easier....
We depend on the Savior every day and have firm testimonies of his Atonement. We wish the blessing of our loving Heavenly Father on all of you as we complete our life's mission together. |
