My husband, Len Winmill, served in the Chilean Mission from 1964-66. I remember he served in Talca, Conception and several other cities. He was companion to Elder Norm Miller at one point. Len died on May 12, 2006, of pancreatic cancer.
He had a great love for the people of Chile and two months before he died, he was able to contact Eugenia Cuevas, who was a one-year-old at the time her parents converted to the church. It was a dying wish of his to be able to contact her and through some miracles we were able to find her and get a phone number and assistance to make the call. How wonderful it was to watch him talking on the phone to her!
We are grateful that reunions were held where we could attend many times after we moved to Utah in 1996.
