Comments: In 1999, while on a boating trip to Yuba Reservoir (Central Utah), I met Linda Lewison Hotz (pronounced huts) who lived in Las Vegas (born and raised in Madison WI). We did the “You’ve Got Mail” bit and married exactly two years later in 2001. She moved to Provo and brought with her one son to add to my family of one son and daughter.
I retired from Provo Fire Department this April 2009 after thirty years of service. It was a bitter/sweet occasion. I was quite tired of, and ready to quit being a “community babysitter” (which is what a firefighters job is) but will miss the associations with my “brothers” in the fire service, people with whom I lived nearly one third of the time for those thirty years.
Since retiring, I’m busier than ever finishing the rebuild of the new/old house and landscaping the yard. I’m looking forward to traveling, fishing and pursuing my model railroad, music and photography hobbies.
I look back at my time in Hong Kong and the friendships I made with much fondness and cherish the great memories. Drop me a line or if you’re in the area, look me up, or come see me at Van Wagenen Finance Co. Orem where I work part time, I typically work there Tue., Thu, and Sat.
