I'm surprised that there are not more missionaries listed from 1988-1989. I was the first historian to serve in this mission. Elder Shepherd came in and replaced me when I went to Cartegena. I then served with Elder Shelton as Zone leader in Barranquilla. After that I went to Santa Marta and served with Elder Duffin. I only got to serve in this mission for a year since my first was spent in the Bogota mission before the split in 1988. My fondest memory was participating in the baptisms of a Barranquilla family that took care of elder shelton and I while we were zone leaders. I remember trying to teach them the gosphel while we were there but the family went through a couple more sets of missionaries before they were ready. Their baptisms were the last of my mission 2 days before I left. |
