Jonathan Jackson joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 2007. He manages the U.S. Chamber's corporate briefing center. In this capacity he engages chief industry leaders in executive level discussions with the nation’s top policy experts on key initiatives, including: health care, energy, infrastructure, taxes, labor, capital markets, legal reform and international affairs.
Prior to this assignment he served as primary staff to General James L. Jones. Gen. Jones is the former Supreme Allied Commander Europe, and Commandant of the Marine Corps and is now serving as National Security Advisor to President Obama. As aide to Gen. Jones, Jackson helped plan and launch an international energy organization representing over 25 leading energy companies. He staffed Gen. Jones in high-level policy meetings related to energy security, U.S. military/government, transatlantic relationships and foreign affairs and was liaison to over 20 corporate and non-profit organizations, handling operations, project management and communications with senior government/military/congressional officials and the national media.
Prior to this assignment, Jackson served as primary staff to the Chief of Staff to Secretary Elaine L. Chao of the U.S. Department of Labor. He served as liaison to the White House Cabinet Affairs office on personnel, presidential actions, correspondence and surrogate events.
Jackson graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Kappa Phi with a B.S. in Economics from Utah State University. He is married to the former Julie Whipple of Hyrum, Utah. They reside in Washington DC with their two daughters, Andelyn and Alexis. |
