Comments:
I was one of the cast-offs from El Salvador when that mission closed in 1979 because of the civil war. I was worried about being a greenie in a new mission again, but Pres Muren had a lifelong impact on me by treating me so kindly and helping me know that the Lord wanted me in Panama. I will always be grateful to him for that. I had a wonderful year in Panama: five months in La Chorrera, one month with Elder Fink in David and then my last 6 months in heaven on Tikantiki in San Blas.

My wife Lea (served in Paraguay) and I have three children. We recently served for three years as Chairs of the Board for Families Supporting Adoption in Ogden as part of LDS Family Services. Lea is currently R. S. President in our ward in South Ogden and I'm serving on the High Council.

I loved my mission and use what I learned there constantly. I would love to hear from some during "my era."

LDS QUOTE:
"You are a great army of returned missionaries. Go forward with new zeal and determination, and through your example shine the light of the gospel in this troubled world. This is the Lord's work in which we are engaged. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. We belong to His Church. This is my witness to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
- Elder L. Tom Perry
Ensign, Nov. 2001
