The last 10 years in a nutshell...
Lots of time overseas: DR 3 times after the mission: study abroad PUCMM '99, temple dedication, vacation); worked in Mexico and Bangladesh; 5 months with a non-profit in Honduras; traveled Central America a few times; 7 months teaching English in Korea; traveled S.E. Asia for 3 months sport climbing Thai limestone; graduated from BYU in Spanish; taught AP Spanish at a Catholic H.S. in Boise; ran 3 marathons (PR: 3:06 in St. G back in 2001); sent off a missionary to Temple Square, decided to join the National Guard while I waited--didn't work out, but the gig for Uncle Sam continues--Became an officer a year ago; worked for the State of Idaho Dept. of Commerce as an International Trade Analyst; Finally, met a wonderful girl a few months ago and am anxious to return to Boise in three weeks (from military training in Oklahoma...) to date her while I pass my days job hunting, collecting unemployment, riding, running, and sitting in my hottub (not necessarily in that order...)--change of plans: Going to Iraq 6 March for approx. 9-12 months...Got engaged this week, too (at least something good happened...)--and the update...engagement didn't work out; had hip surgery to fix snowboarding injury; (still...)remodeling the house I bought in 2005 after Iraq; had thumb surgery to fix the thumb I cut in half remodeling the house; back to work with the state; did a lot more travel for work and fun in the US and abroad (Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, China, Japan, Chile, Mexico, Hong Kong,...) and, now, after 8 long years...finally heading back to that place where God rests his feet...the DR (jan 09)--caminante no hay camino...se hace camino al andar... |
